The Pups had their first meal toward weaning on Saturday, April 22.

They are getting barley baby cereal mixed with egg yolks, liquid human baby vitamins, fish oil and goat's milk. You will see from the following photos that the pups made quite a mess of themselves, getting more milk on themselves and each other than they probably drank. After the feeding, the box was a sopping wet, sticky mess--as were the pups!--so both box and pups got thorough cleanings. For the next few days, pups will be offered 2 meals a day of this mixture while they learn how to lap milk/food from a dish. This is the first step toward weaning them from Kit's mother milk. The pups complained bitterly the whole time, seeming to feel that this was an inferior way to eat and that Kit should be returned to them immediately!!!!!
